A part of me wishes this was about someone else. This will lack that crazy amazing feeling you get when you discover something new, someone no one else knows about… This will lack that feeling. This post is about a girl, a model, supermodel, called Freja Beha Erichsen. Yes, you know her don’t you?! As I said… This lacks that curly wurly feeling. Then again, maybe it doesn’t.
Is this simply a dedication post? Possibly… I don’t have much to say, nothing you probably can’t find out via google, she’s that famous. Don’t read the bullshit, focus on her face, her body, and try not to become slightly obsessed. I don’t say this often but feel free to completely forget about my other girl crush, Freja is the one.
The past few weeks I have been desperately searching for a new source of inspiration. Somebody who perfectly embodies something I want, something I need. Something that may not be a thing at all. I am making radical changes, I need a muse who does not know their purpose, an icon to channel, channel so well the line at which thoughts of her ends and creation begins become perfectly smudged.
Did Christopher Decarnin think of Micheal whilst sketching Balmain of recent seasons? Did he?

A few editorial shoots I’ve mentioned recently highlight my love for all things androgynous in fashion, art, models, and of course real life.
IDs boys who are girls played around with gender neutral punk styling, and Daria looked every part a boy in her recent spread for British Vogue called iron maiden. However it seems that the British magazines can’t even begin to compete with the French when it comes to pure and simple androgyny in fashion, and this spread in Aprils French Vogue proves this.
“Comme Frère et Soeur” simply means “Like Brother and Sister”, and unlike the others who used two models, or one playing a very specific role, Anna gets done and undone, playing different versions of herself.

This isn’t ‘new’, in fact considering the fact that everyone is currently covering New York Fashion week, this might seem a bit, well, irrelevant. It’s not… I’ll do a round up of NY soon, and be sure to focus on London. As of right now, however, I want to share with you, this spread, from the March 2009 issue of UK Vogue, shot by Mario Testino, and featuring the only girl that could turn me lesbian, uber model Daria Werbowy.
I think by now the fact that I consider Daria to be ‘perfection’, isn’t really much of a secret, I’ve blogged about her seriously before, and once for no real reason in particular. In fact I am currently obsessed with a certain blog, the Daria Werbowy files, which obsessively documents her fashion life, could be seen by some as kind of mildly stalkerish. Loves it!
